The president of the National Council of the Roma National Minority, Dalibor Nakić, attended the seminar for teachers of the Roma language together with the president of the Executive Board, Pava Čabrilovski.
The seminar was organized by the Provincial Office for the Inclusion of Roma in AP Vojvodina, and numerous teachers of the Roma language attended.
At the very beginning, the director of the Office and the president of the Education Committee in the National Council, Ljiljana Mihajlović, greeted those present and thanked President Nakić for the support that the National Council provides to the promotion of the Romani language and the support of teachers in their work and training, stressing the importance of the implementation of elective courses Romani language with elements of national culture.
In his speech, President Nakić thanked the organizers for the invitation and added: “The National Council supports the work of teachers of the Romani language. Their contribution is immeasurable for the preservation of the Romani language. We will work on expanding the network of teachers through the preparation of textbooks and other teaching aids”.
On behalf of the Provincial Secretariat for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities, the seminar was attended by Živana Živanović, who is also the president of the Information Committee in the National Council. In her address, she pointed out that nurturing language and culture is part of preserving identity, and that the importance that teachers of the Romani language have in that process is immeasurable.
