



On May 3 and 4, 2023, at the Palace Hotel in Belgrade, training sessions were held for peer educators within the Equality project. Students participated in the training four Belgrade schools: Elementary School Zaga Malivuk, Elementary School Branko Pešić, Elementary School Jovan Cvijić and Elementary School Archibald Rice and teaching assistants from the mentioned schoolsDuring the two training sessions, the participants had the opportunity to become better acquainted with the terms stereotypes and prejudices, as well as how these two phenomena can lead to discrimination. Through the carefully selected content of the workshops, the participants work in a group and interactive way had the opportunity to give concrete examples of discrimination from their environment. In one part of the training, the students were introduced to the history of the Roma people, the flag, anthem, customs, all with the aim of strengthening the sense of belonging and preserving one’s own identity. The training participants showed great interest in participating in the workshops held as part of the training and largely took responsibility for their success implementation through active participation and commitment.
